Sara Silverstein is net met haar familie teruggekeerd uit Los Angeles. Ze is nooit in aanraking gekomen met geweld, dus als haar zoon zich aanmeldt bij de US Marines voelt Sara zich machteloos en verpletterd. Dan wordt ze aangevallen door een vreemde man en komt haar vader plotseling te overlijden. Als vlak daarna haar gezin ook nog slachtoffer wordt van een gewelddadige inbraak, bereikt de dreiging een hoogtepunt. Houdt het allemaal verband met het mysterieuze oorlogsverleden van haar vader?
